BMA Train Loading Improvement System

The first Meridian TLI system installed in Queensland was at the BMA Norwich Park mine in 2004. This installation was initially sponsored by Queensland Rail to demonstrate new loading technologies in Queensland. The project demonstrated the relative ease with in which Meridian technology could be applied to existing installations.

BMA purchased the system after a three month trial demonstrated major improvements in the loading of trains. The key criterion by which the system was assessed was the loading of trains to 100% mass target, while significantly reducing the occurrences of wagon overloads.

In December 2005, Meridian was awarded an ‘Operating Excellence and Innovation Award’ by BMA for this project.
