The coal rail network in Queensland is extensive and owned by QR. The train loading process (typically performed at the rate of 4000-6000 tonnes/hr) can at times easily overload wagons that result in serious safety and maintenance cost implications. To protect the integrity of their asset, QR has identified the need to have reliable and accurate weighbridges at every mine loading point in Queensland.
